Where Do Your
Donations Go?
Elephant Welfare App
Your donations enable us to give more facilities access to our groundbreaking app for free. The app, a scientifically-validated research tool, allows caregivers to observe and monitor their elephants’ welfare so that tailored care plans and improvements can be made – giving us valuable data in the process.
Research Projects
We work on many observational research projects, such as developing enrichment tools to improve the welfare of captive elephants. Our research extends to wild elephants, too – we are currently undertaking scientific validation for a personality assessment for elephants. Once validated, this could even predict likely behaviours of different personality types to prevent human-elephant conflict.
Activities & Training
Our advocacy involves advisory on elephant welfare at a government level and has included revisions to important legislation. We also collaborate with animal scientists and elephant caregivers, and conduct knowledge-sharing workshops to train people on the use of our app and expand our understanding of elephants.

We all love seeing these gentle giants at the zoo, but the things that make elephants special – their intelligence, strong social bonds, size and need to roam – can create challenges in captivity. We do important research to improve their wellbeing, within the context of how they’ve evolved to live.

We work directly with caregivers, through allowing them to track their elephants’ welfare through our groundbreaking Elephant Welfare App and introduce tailored care plans. We also provide advice and training to caregivers, who want the best for their elephants but until now have lacked the resources that we provide.

Wild
Our work has an impact on wild elephants too. Through the data we collect via the app and other observational research, we’re gathering important insights to understand and support wild populations – from understanding their anatomy and physiology, to trying to predict and mitigate human-elephant conflict.
